Hardin County Solid Waste provides solid waste disposal and recycling services for Hardin County citizens, with 13 conveniently located centers around the county for garbage and recyclable disposal. We strive to serve our citizens in the most efficient and environmentally friendly way possible to keep Hardin County beautiful now and for the future.

What We Can Receive

In addition to household garbage, we also accept and recycle various other materials at our convenience centers. Our light duty service centers accept paper and plastic recyclables while our full-service centers accept a wider variety of items as listed below.

We accept garbage and recyclables at 13 conveniently located convenience centers throughout Hardin County. Please bag all waste and dispose of in the appropriate containers.

You may bring used oil to any of our full-service centers for recycling.

We accept and recycle tires by appointment only at our solid waste shop located at 720 Industrial Road in Savannah. Call (731) 925-9943 for an appointment to complete the proper paperwork and drop off your used tires.

Yes! We accept e-waste at all full-service centers.

All of our full-service centers accept wood & brush, metal, furniture, household appliances, and construction debris for recycling and disposal. These items must be disposed of in the appropriate bins at each location.

Part-Time Convenience Center Employees

Hardin County is now accepting applications for part-time convenience center employees. Applications may be picked up in the Solid Waste Office in the Courthouse in Savannah at 465 Main Street Please apply at the Hardin County Solid Waste office in the Courthouse on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Applications will be accepted until position is filled.
